Whoever thought Gospel music couldn’t be infused with Reggae beats and a NeoSoul style hasn’t heard Kristine Alicia. This Jamaican-born singer and songwriter integrates these diverse sounds with an energetic stage presence and a strong, sultry voice that resonates a unique style all her own. With powerful lyrics and an emotional delivery, this soulful songstress clearly has something to say and commands attention to her message with the gift of her voice.
From her first public singing performance at the age of 9 in her hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, it was obvious that this rising star was meant to make her mark on the Christian music world. From birth, her talents were cultivated by her father, a classical musician and minister who taught her and her five younger siblings to sing and play the piano. He encouraged them to use their talents in church and what started out as a family pastime, quickly became her passion.
Having migrated with her family to the U.S. at the age of 13, Kristine Alicia has held to her Caribbean roots while growing in her faith. In her teens, she competed in numerous festivals winning at the local, state, and national levels. Her talent was further cultivated during her studies at Oral Roberts University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Music. She dreamed of someday becoming a communicator and promoter for the Christian music industry. It was there that she refined her vocal abilities as part of the university’s gospel choir Souls A’ Fire and first developed a keen ear for harmony. In 2004, she won the South Florida Gospel Network Talent Fest, which landed her in the recording studio where she collaborated with local artists as well as Monty G, Sherwin Gardner, Nigel Lewis and Papa San.
“Get Ready”, Kristine Alicia’s first studio album propelled her into the forefront of Caribbea
n gospel where she garnered an unprecedented seven nominations at the 2009 Marlin Awards. These nominations included Album of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Reggae Song of the Year, and Video of the year. She took home Artist of the Year and Female Performance of the Year and her music video for the title track, “Get Ready”, is in heavy rotation on MTV Tempo.
Kristine Alicia’s debut album is described as an album that “ brings across gospel in such a unique way that it serves not only persons who are sanctified, but reaches out to the masses who are searching for relevance amid the chaos of everyday living” – Johnny Wonder (Producer)
Currently, Kristine Alicia is working on her sophomore album and is coming out the gate hard with the smash hit “Philistine”, which has already won a 2010 Marlin award with Papa San for Best Collaboration.
Whether on stage, on the streets, or on Facebook, Kristine Alicia delivers a consistent message; Love God and Love people. Her honest approach to music is refreshing and touches people in a way that peaks their interest in Jesus Christ. “With all the artists and singers out there, I want my application to say that I have His best interest. . . I just want to be a great instrument in His musical collection.

Many Christian artists, in an attempt to shed the narrow exposure that accompanies the Christian/Gospel shelf on iTunes, are embarking upon new musical journeys.
Deriving inspiration from the prodigious victory wrought by fellow countryman Usain Bolt at the 2008 Olympics and the following year at the Berlin World Championships, Kristine's message reverberates through every chord and key - don't limit yourself to society's standards.
